I had the chance to visit the Windsor Arms in Toronto this week, as a part of a birthday present from my friend.
The Windsor Arms is a five-star hotel, located in Yorkville – one of the richest parts of the city, lined with expensive boutiques and of course, expensive hotels. The Windsor Arms has a tea room, where they serve high tea throughout the day. We picked Twilight Tea, where we had the choice of loose-leaf tea (I picked Tibetan Tiger), and featured fresh sandwiches, scones (which were my favourite part) and dessert.
The Windsor Arms also gave you an option to wear some of their fancy hats – something I opted out for, but Jaya whole-heartedly enjoyed.
We met some lovely ladies – Christina and Francis – while we were there. They were also tea enthusiasts, who experienced their first evening at the Windsor Arms, as well. We chatted about the service, food and all raved about the tea while walking down the hotel’s massively gorgeous hallways.
The only downside to our experience was the parking. Your only option in the area is valet. That was $20 for under two hours. Very pricey. But with the windchill hitting minus 32C, I think it was a good choice.
Would I recommend it? I would say, pick up a deal on Groupon, if anything. I don’t think it is worth the full $45 per person; locally, you could get similar service and menu options. But I do think visiting once in your life is a must, if you love tea!
