Niagara-on-the-lake’s Fort George

By Emily

Located in Niagara-on-the-lake, Fort George served as the headquarters for the Centre Division of the British Army during the War of 1812. Major General Sir Isaac Brock, “the saviour of Upper Canada” served here until his death at the Battle of Queenston Heights in October, 1812.

It is one of Ontario’s most interesting historic sites. Fort George is supposedly haunted and it offers regular tours. I have yet to experience the ghost walks, but I would assume it is worth checking out if you ever visit Niagara, ON.

The Loveliest Town in Ontario

By emilyjsantos

I am starting to think I should rename this blog, seeing as my recent posts have been outside of Durham.

Anywho, I recently went on a 15k bike tour through Niagara-on-the-Lake, enjoying their fine wines and taking in all the great surroundings. I rode with Zoom Leisure, and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a one-day adventure!
